What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a tiny chip built into newer smartphones that lets you connect to a mobile network without needing a physical SIM card. It has been available since 2017 on phones like the Google Pixel 3 and iPhone XR/XS. It uses secure credentials to access wireless networks and can be activated using QR codes or manual activation codes to activate wireless service without a physical SIM card
